3. Embassy of Czech Republic

ARCHITECTS – “Lennox architekti”, M. Smrčkova, T. Stary, J. Stary, J. Stejskalik, M. Schwarz, INTERIOR DESIGN – “Qubus Design”, 2004.

Czech Embassy in Vilnius is not only a modern two-building complex but also an excellent example of European modern architecture in Vilnius. One part of the building is for representative and administrative functions, while other is a residence of an ambassador together with 2 two-storey apartments, diplomatic courier and a guest room.

A lot of attention was paid to interior and exterior spaces from the point of architectural composition in order to emphasise different functions and the fact that it holds both representative events and accommodation of diplomats and guests.

While designing the building special attention was focused on the consistency with the existing environment, which is greenery and exclusive silhouette of Zvėrynas. The main purpose of czech architects was to merge complexity of buildings into a continuous composition. You will able to evaluate yourself how they did it and how it reflects czech architectural culture in Vilnius.
