56. The interior of Valdas Ozarinskas loft

Authors

ARCHITECT – Valdas Ozarinskas, 2011 m.

About

Valdas Ozarinskas (1961 – 2014) was one of the brightest representatives of interdisciplinary art and conceptual architecture. He created his home radically: he used multi-functionality, he created both from scratch and also adapted already existing industrial objects. “A ship stuck on a slope” – that was the vision of the architect when he first saw this for-sale plinth floor space on St Steponas street. He completed his vision thoroughly: from the grey marine plywood finish, iron beams, water motifs, and stainless-steel detailing, to manufactory buttons, massive metal screws and other industrial objects. Everything in this house is unique: no synthetics and no mass produce items. This space is a piece of art, in which the architect resurrected and applied industrial design items for their second life.

Visit the “ship” of Valdas Ozarinskas: this is where you can get inspired how to unconventionally decorate your home. According to the architect, he “wanted descriptions other than pretty, prettier, even prettier.”
