32. Lukiškės Remand and Prison

Authors

ARCHITECT – G. Trambickis, ENGINEER – K. Kelčevskis, 1904.

About

The prison building was built in the early 20th C., and hasn’t changed in either its looks or its purpose. Previously referred to as “a modern prison fortress”, today this building is the oldest operating prison in Lithuania. It is composed of a small autonomous block with residential, production, administrative and praying facilities right in the middle of the busy Vilnius City Centre. This world runs under different rules, a different lifestyle and a different reality.
