Fire and Rescue Service Team and Emergency Call Centre

An environmentally friendly building rising in Antakalnis, near the Šilas Bridge, stands as a stronghold for emergency responders. It is home to the 6th Fire and Rescue Team of the Vilnius County Fire and Rescue Board, always on duty and ready to respond, while patient operators answer the constantly ringing emergency calls. It is a place where activity never stops – day and night.

The architects designed the building so that glass façades open up views of the Neris River, offering moments of relief after intense and demanding work. Its distinctive character is defined by façades clad in nearly black fired clay panels and bold red main entrances. The sloping terrain descending toward the river made it possible to partially embed the building into the ground and green its roof, which is visible from a spacious terrace.

The fire engine garage, washing facilities, changing and rest areas, conference hall, riverside boat hangar, a call centre with 60 operator workstations, and an information archive are more than just functional spaces. This is a place where extraordinary, real-life stories unfold every day.
