Located in the Naujamiestis district, the building Nu Wave is an example of Modernist architecture that has undergone several functional transformations, with much of its architectural character hidden within its interior.

Its story began in 1960, when, together with the surrounding apartment blocks, it helped form the perimeter block structure of the neighborhood. The building is a three-story structure of restrained architectural style – free from decorative elements typical of late Modernism. The only features that hint at its public function are its tall windows and a glass bay window that highlights the main entrance.

It is believed that the building originally served as an administrative facility for a nearby factory, later becoming increasingly open to the city. By the late 20th century, it housed a cafeteria on the ground floor, with dances and events held upstairs – turning it into a kind of local cultural hub. In 1998, it was converted into a hotel, a function it maintained for many years despite frequent changes in ownership.

In 2021, new owners began a fresh chapter in the building’s life – renovating and adapting it to meet the needs of today’s urban residents. This transformation revitalized the interiors, subtly revealed authentic architectural elements, and integrated them with contemporary design solutions.
