The environmentally friendly building, located in Antakalnis near Šilo Bridge, is a stronghold for rescuers. It houses the 6th team of the Vilnius County Fire and Rescue Service, who are always ready to help, and the patient employees answer the never-silent emergency phone. This is a place where life is bustling day and night.

Architects designed the building so that its glass walls offer a view of the Neris River, helping employees relax after intense work. The expressive character of the building is emphasized by the facades finished with almost black burnt clay panels and the bright red main entrances. The slope descending to the river allowed the architects to “bury” part of the building underground and thus landscape its roof, which can be seen from the large building terrace.

The fire engine garage, their washing bays, changing and rest rooms, conference room, boat slip by the river, a 60-seat operator’s room, and an information archive room are not just simple workspaces – these are the are places where extreme life stories are told.
