Open call for volunteers: join the Open House Vilnius team

2024 02 22

The Open Architecture Weekend, which will take place on May 18-19 this year, for the tenth time will introduce the unique architecture of Vilnius by granting access to the capital’s usually inaccessible buildings. You can be a part of the architecture festival too – Open House Vilnius is looking for volunteers to join the team.

Hundreds of Open House Vilnius volunteers are an integral and extremely important part of the event, and the success of the event largely depends on them. For one weekend, they become hosts of the buildings and give tours to thousands of visitors.

You can be a part of the architecture festival by joining the 2024 volunteer team.

How to become an Open House Vilnius volunteer?

Everyone over the age of 20 can become an OHV volunteer, regardless of their occupation, profession or city of residence – even non-architecture-related residents and visitors can join the event.

The most important thing is to commit to volunteering during both days of the event and be open to learning and new experiences. The participating buildings already have their assigned mentors who will introduce the volunteers to the building spaces and its history, prepare the content of the tour, and coordinate the team.

The volunteers together with the assigned team are responsible for one the festival’s buildings throughout the festival, where they give guided tours or coordinate the flow of the visitors. Volunteers can also contribute to organisational tasks before and during the event.

Personal development opportunities

Volunteering a OHV gives you plenty of opportunities for personal development. By preparing and leading tours, volunteers not only get to know the outstanding buildings in Vilnius and their creators, learn interesting stories, deepen their knowledge of architecture and history, but also develop a wide range of soft skills, such as public speaking and organisational skills.

As a volunteer, you will also experience many positive emotions, have the opportunity to take part in test tours, interact with many curious visitors, make new friends, participate in the closing event and receive our T-shirt.

Click here to fill in the application form. You can apply until March 13.

Let’s celebrate architecture together!
