Keistuoliai Theatre is the first independent professional theatre in Lithuania, having found its home in the industrial architecture of the Press Palace at the intersection of the Karoliniškės and Viršuliškės districts. The building was built in 1984, and was not designed for theatre purposes. However, for several decades the theatre team has been working and creating here, finding and implementing the technical solutions necessary for the theatre.

The reconstruction carried out by the IMPLMNT architects team over the last few years has given the Keistuoliai Theatre a new look. The theatre now has a separate entrance, and visitors are greeted in the foyer by a playful cube-shaped dressing room with symmetrically folded steel walls, and a toilet wall, formed in a semicircle and in the same style. Several non-functional walls have been demolished to provide more space for the audience waiting for performances, the TV studio in one of the halls has been transformed into a cosy small hall, the soundproofing and lighting system has been changed in the large hall, and the most striking attraction of the hall among the new comfortable chairs is the red chair in the middle of the hall.

All the spaces of the theatre are united by a play of black, grey and white, while the predominantly minimalist interior helps the audience to concentrate and focus on the actors performing on stage.
