Next to Vilnius Old Town, surrounded by Reformatų Square, luxurious modern apartments are located. When searching for an architectural/urbanistic concept for the development of the territory, the aim was to create a simple, rational structure and find a suitable, subtle relationship with the neighboring spaces and development of the Old Town and Reformatų Square.
The concept was determined by the location and context of the plot: the former historical residential function of the plot was restored. Without changing the historically formed relief character of the plot, the volumes were incorporated into the slope with overlaps, and while maintaining the silhouette typical of the Old Town, the buildings were designed with sloping roofs.
The project consists of a composition of three identical volumes. Considering the urban structures and scale of development of adjacent and neighboring territories, in order to articulate the northern facade of J. Basanavičiaus Str., the development is formed along the street according to the principle of perimeter development, while in the depth of the block, the morphology of an urban villa is chosen.
Light plaster was used for the cladding of two of the buildings, taking into account the predominant finish of the houses on J. Basanavičiaus Str. Dark gray wood was used for the building near the park, harmonizing with the color scheme and seasonality of the park.
The created architectural expression reflects the principles characteristic of Vilnius Old Town and harmoniously blends into the surrounding urban and natural environment.
