Architecture is a material thing – it is composed of bricks, concrete and maybe marble – and it has always spoken about those involved in creating it. The desire to stand out, to put oneself on the map, to leave a lasting impression, and to use architectural means to tell the most beautiful story about oneself can still be seen in much of the city’s architecture today.
